Architexture, published by Visual Books in August 2003, which received the Pretoria Institute for Architecture Presidents Award. In 2007 Detail Housed followed, also published by Visual Books. Career
In 1989 he completed part of his practical training in London (Bruce Gillbreth & Triad Architects) after which he travelled the globe extensively. After completing his studies in 1991 he was invited by Prof Dr Dieter Holm (the former head of Architecture at the University of Pretoria) to join their practice: Holm, Jordaan, Holm. At the end of 1994 he was offered a partnership at Nel Storm Architects in Pretoria. With Jacques Gerber as partner they formed Mathews and Gerber Architects from December 1995 to November 2000.
